Education

The right of parents to decide how and where their children should be educated is an important one, and is something I will defend in Concord. All parents want what is best for their children, but differences in beliefs and values mean that what’s best for some families won’t work as well for others. Restricting the ability of parents to select for their children a high-quality education is harmful to everyone, and an abuse of the State’s authority.

It’s vital that parents in this state continue to have access to a variety of educational options, including public, private, and parochial schools, as well as homeschooling. As a State Senator, I will fight for your rights to choose the educational institution you think best meets the needs of your child.
