Grafton County Sheriff Endorses Jeanie Forrester

Grafton County Sheriff Endorses Jeanie Forrester

Haverhill, NH — Citing her commitment to the safety and welfare of Senate District 2 and her conservative fiscal principles, Sheriff Doug Dutile endorsed Republican Jeanie Forrester as his choice for State Senate. “Jeanie Forrester will fight for us, our safety and our pocket books. She is the only candidate in District 2 who has pledged to repeal the mandatory parole bill that is releasing child predators back onto the streets—just to “balance” the budget. I 100% back her efforts and her candidacy,” said Sheriff Dutile.

This past week, Jeanie Forrester criticized Democrat Senator Deb Reynolds for her sponsorship of this bill, SB 500. The bill which became law with Governor Lynch’s signature mandates the early release of violent offenders and child predators to “save money” but has resulted in the downshifting of monitoring and enforcement costs onto the county and local law enforcement agencies and taxpayers.

“Jeanie Forrester will put the welfare of our citizens at the top of her list and look out for the taxpayer. I just want to say to law enforcement and voters all across State Senate District 2 – Jeanie Forrester will be a state senator we can trust and that means so much, continued Dutile.”

Joining Sheriff Dutile in his endorsement of Jeanie Forrester is his wife, Barb, a retired Deputy Sheriff, “Jeanie is a thoughtful leader and ardent listener who I know will put the people and taxpayers of District 2 first. It is time for a new advocate for us in Concord and that’s Jeanie Forrester.”

“I am honored to have the support of the Dutile’s. Their commitment to public safety is rock solid and I thank them for their years of service. It is with the encouragement and support of folks like them all across this district that will propel us to victory on November 2nd.”

Tom & Sheila Thomson Endorse Jeanie

TOM & SHEILA THOMSON ENDORSE JEANIE FORRESTER FOR NH STATE SENATE

“Jeanie Forrester is the new leadership that we need to shake things up in Concord. She has years of experience as a small business owner and in economic development.  I know she will fight for less spending, lower taxes and put a stop to the downshifting of state costs onto the local property taxpayers,”  said Tom Thomson.  “ I am particularly proud that she is the only State Senate candidate in the District 2 race who has signed the Americans for Prosperity Pledge.  By signing the Pledge Jeanie is committed to cutting taxes, fees and spending, reducing the size of government, and upholding the New Hampshire and Federal Constitutions.  Jeanie Forrester will look out for the working families and businesses of New Hampshire and that is why I am endorsing her for State Senate.” Tom Thomson

“I am very proud to have the support and endorsement of both Tom and Sheila,” said Forrester.

Forrester Blasts Reynolds on Passage of “OK to Steal” Law

Cites as latest example of Reynolds’ anti-small business stance

Meredith, NH: Conservative Republican Candidate for State Senate District 2, Jeanie Forrester, today blasted Democratic State Senator Deborah Reynolds’ support of and work on HB1168 the “OK to Steal from Small Business” Act.

Signed into law last week by Governor Lynch and scheduled to go into effect Labor Day, September 6th, HB 1168 now exempts employee theft of up to $500 from “gross misconduct”.

“So, as small businesses in District 2 struggle for profitability, Deb Reynolds comes along and tells the owners that it is now OK for employees to steal from them,” said Forrester.  “It’s outrageous that Deb Reynolds would support legislation that allows an employee to steal $499.99 from his or her employer and still collect unemployment benefits after they got fired.”

Under HB1168, employee thefts of less than $500 from employers, vendors, charity collections and customers would not be classified as “gross misconduct” and if fired, would still be allowed to collect unemployment benefits.  State Senator Deb Reynolds was an assigned member of the House and Senate Conference Committee before sending the bill to Governor Lynch for signing.  The Senate vote was on a voice vote and no recorded vote exists.

“Unemployment benefit rates are a big cost of doing business in New Hampshire and now many, many small businesses, forced to fire employees for stealing $499.99 or less, are going to see those rates go even higher – thanks to Deb Reynolds,” continued Forrester.  “I cannot understand for the life of me why Concord would think it’s OK to steal $499.99 and still allow someone to collect unemployment benefits. Clearly, the incumbents are out of touch.”

Republican Jeanie Forrester believes the already struggling unemployment benefits fund should be preserved to help the good, hardworking, honest citizens of District 2 who have fallen on hard times and not those who steal.  The fund cannot do both.  She has pledged to sponsor repeal legislation in the next session starting in January 2011.

Forrester Campaigns Grassroots Style in Orford

Forrester Campaigns Grassroots Style in Orford

MEREDITH – Jeanie Forrester, a conservative Republican candidate for NH State Senate District 2 took her grassroots campaign to Orford last Wednesday.  Forrester joined State Representative Candidate Vicki Schwaegler going door-to-door to meet voters.

“Listening to voters, looking them in the eye and asking for their support is the foundation of my campaign. I look forward to visiting with voters as I continue my door-to-door campaign throughout the summer months,” said Forrester.

The day ended with a meeting with Orford Selectmen.  “I feel it is extremely important to introduce myself to and speak with every Selectboard in District 2,” said Forrester who has already visited with 18 Selectboads of the 31 towns in her district.

“As a former Town Administrator, I know and value the hard work of our local leaders.  Concord should take a lesson from these town governments—they know how to create a responsible, realistic budget and live within that budget.”

A resident of Meredith, Jeanie is a newcomer to running for public office but believes her experience as a Town Administrator, Main Street Director in Plymouth and Meredith, and her background working with volunteers and non-profits has well prepared her for the New Hampshire State Senate. “I believe my experience and desire to earn the support of the voters of District 2 one-on-one distinguishes me from my opposition,” added Forrester.

“Local, accessible representation is a New Hampshire tradition that I cherish and will continue to actively embrace,” concluded Forrester.  For more information on Jeanie’s campaign for NH State Senate, visit her website at www.jeanieforrester.com or call 279.1459.

Over $300 raised for Center Harbor Library

Over $300 raised for Center Harbor Library

MEREDITH – Thanks to generous donors and volunteer help, over $300 was raised for the Center Harbor Library this past Saturday.  Center Harbor residents Dawn Heiderer, Helen Heiner, and Barbara Lauterbach hosted a “Books, Bake Sale, and Berries with Jeanie” at the former Our Lady of Victory Church in Center Harbor.

The event served a dual purpose—a fundraiser for the Center Harbor Library which is celebrating its 100 year anniversary and an opportunity to meet Jeanie Forrester, conservative Republican candidate for NH State Senate, District 2.

Homemade baked goods, gently used books, and fresh berries were offered for sale with all proceeds going to the Library.  Center Harbor residents Helen Heiner, Barbara Lauterbach, Dawn Heiderer, and Sally Smith along with Meredith residents Vickie Carty, Carol Gerken, Jodie Herbert, and Jeanie Forrester all provided baked goods.  John Moulton donated fresh berries for the sale as well.

“This was a great idea and a very successful event,” said Forrester.  “I’ve always been a strong advocate for identifying a need and taking action to meet that need.   Working collaboratively with Helen, Dawn, and Barbara, we came up with this event.   Local community involvement is key and that is what we saw here today.  I got to meet a lot of new folks and join my supporters in helping raise funds for a very worthy cause.”

A resident of Meredith, Jeanie is a newcomer to running for public office but believes her background working with volunteers and non-profits, her experience as a Town Administrator and Main Street Director in Plymouth and Meredith has well prepared her for the New Hampshire State Senate. “I believe my experience and desire to earn the support of the voters of District 2 one-on-one distinguishes me from my opposition,” added Forrester.

“It is humbling and encouraging having community leaders like Dawn Heiderer, Helen Heiner, and Barbara Lauterbach support my candidacy for State Senate Dist. 2. The opportunity to be a part of this event today was a truly rewarding experience.”
